The Engagement Process

A typical relationship begins with an exploratory discussion of your company and the pain points facing the prospective client and a review of Impact’s capabilities and track record and relevant experience to the client’s issues. Given alignment, we normally broaden the discussion to include other key staff to gain a more in-depth appreciation for the challenges at hand. When consensus is reached to move forward we spend anywhere from several days up to two weeks on site analyzing systems and process flows, observing operations real time and reviewing trends. At this time, we pinpoint the core issues and draft alternatives. We also meet to develop a shared understanding of the desired outcomes. The alternatives are then presented, discussed and we architect a comprehensive solution that satisfies your immediate needs and also analyzes the impact the approach will have longer term. After determining the comprehensive solution, we will craft the project plan, outline project deliverables, establish a preliminary project schedule, summarize the benefits and provide preliminary financial projections. After a proposal is accepted we normally begin the project phase immediately. This enables us to deliver the projected return on investment that much sooner. The project plan phase will begin the change process that enables us to deliver the projected results. We develop performance metrics and goals; prototype and change processes as dictated by the resolution; educate and train personnel in the process. After execution, the project point will gather metrics identified in the plan phase and will be measured and reported on. We will continue to monitor the process to insure that skills and knowledge have been successfully transferred and that our clients reap the benefits.

The 5P Methodology
